El Fasher, Sudan – Relief Care Alliance (RCA) has successfully launched its first health and awareness initiative in the conflict-affected region of El Fasher, targeting internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Zam Zam now residing at the Omdurman Islamic University gathering site.

The workshop, held under challenging humanitarian conditions, aimed to address the urgent health and environmental challenges facing displaced communities in temporary shelters. The session focused on equipping IDPs with essential knowledge and practical tools to reduce disease risks and improve daily living conditions.

 Key Topics Covered:
  • Hand hygiene as a frontline defense against communicable diseases

  • Environmental cleanliness and its role in preventing outbreaks

  • Safe and proper use of latrines to avoid contamination

  • Personal hygiene practices for improved well-being

This targeted awareness campaign directly reached 150 households, resulting in a noticeable improvement in community understanding and practices related to health and sanitation.

Despite ongoing conflict and displacement challenges, RCA continues to stand with vulnerable populations, providing sustainable, community-driven solutions that empower people to protect themselves and build healthier environments.

“This initiative is just the beginning,” said an RCA representative. “We remain committed to delivering practical support and life-saving knowledge to those who need it most.”
