At Relief Care Alliance (RCA), our Health and Nutrition program is a vital pillar of our humanitarian mission to support vulnerable populations, particularly in crisis-affected and displacement settings. We aim to improve overall health outcomes and address critical nutritional needs through a combination of direct services, outreach, and community-based interventions.

Our integrated approach focuses on accessible, quality health care, maternal and child health, and nutritional support, ensuring that the most at-risk individuals—especially women, children, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions—receive the care and resources they need to survive and thrive.

Improving Access to Health Services

RCA is committed to reducing health disparities by ensuring that basic health services are available, accessible, and responsive to the needs of displaced communities and underserved populations. Our health initiatives are implemented in close collaboration with local health authorities, NGOs, and community health workers to strengthen existing systems and fill critical gaps.

Key health interventions include:

  • Primary Health Care Clinics offering outpatient consultations, basic treatments, and referral services.
  • Mobile Health Units deployed in remote and hard-to-reach areas.
  • Disease prevention and health education campaigns, focusing on hygiene, sanitation, and communicable disease awareness.
  • Emergency medical support during outbreaks or acute humanitarian crises.

Maternal and Child Health

A significant component of our health services is dedicated to maternal and child health, recognizing that women and children are among the most vulnerable in humanitarian contexts. RCA supports safe pregnancies and deliveries through:

  • Antenatal and postnatal care programs.
  • Skilled birth attendants and midwives in primary health centers.
  • Newborn care and immunization campaigns to reduce infant mortality.
  • Health education on breastfeeding, family planning, and child development.

Nutrition Support and Food Assistance

Malnutrition poses a serious threat in displacement and emergency settings. RCA’s Nutrition Program promotes healthy practices while providing targeted support to those at risk of undernutrition.

Our nutrition-focused activities include:

  • Distribution of food assistance to households facing food insecurity.
  • Provision of nutritional supplements for pregnant and lactating women, infants, and children under five.
  • Community-based management of acute malnutrition (CMAM) to identify and treat severe and moderate malnutrition.
  • Nutrition education sessions for caregivers and community members, promoting balanced diets and safe feeding practices.

Building Resilience Through Integrated Care

RCA believes that strong health and nutrition systems are key to long-term resilience. Our programs are designed not only to respond to urgent needs but to empower communities with the knowledge, tools, and services they need to manage their own well-being.

By integrating health and nutrition services across all our operational areas, RCA ensures a holistic and sustainable impact—improving lives today and strengthening systems for tomorrow.
